Overzealous regulation of opioids is having a painful knock-on effect on eastern Europeans with cancer. "There are literally tens of thousands of people who are suffering unnecessarily," says lead author Nathan Cherny of Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel.
